This light wood farmhouse dining table brings a warm and understated touch to the dining room. Its two leaves allow you to switch from everyday use to hosting four to six guests, while the clearance under the tabletop provides ample room for chairs. The wood and light finish pair naturally with vintage linens, white tableware, or wooden seating. This second-hand piece is just as suitable for daily meals as it is for larger gatherings, without making the space feel cramped. For a convivial dinner, it can be set with stoneware plates, clear glassware, and a bouquet of wildflowers. Like any vintage find, it carries the history of its past: the two leaves do not match the tabletop perfectly in color.

A brief history of the farmhouse table
A centerpiece of rural life in the 19th century, the farmhouse table was crafted to last for generations and accommodate large farm gatherings. It is characterized by its thick solid wood top, often marked by the passage of time, and its sturdy legs, sometimes connected by a stretcher or crossbar. Referred to as a "refectory table" or "kitchen table," it was designed to withstand daily chores as well as family feasts.
