This set of four neo-Gothic dark wood and cane chairs adds a refined country touch to any table. Their cane seats lighten the overall look, while the wood creates a simple structure that is easy to incorporate into both a dining room and a kitchen. Curated for their unique appeal, they blend the neo-Gothic style with a softer aesthetic, thanks to the warmth of the dark wood. With their comfortable seat height, they are perfect for both everyday meals and long conversations over coffee. Placed around a raw wood table, they pair elegantly with antique plates and blown glass.

A brief history of the chair
In the Middle Ages, sitting on a chair with a backrest was a rare privilege, reserved for the person presiding over a gathering: the "president" (from the Latin praesidere, to sit before). Long a symbol of prestige compared to the benches and stools used by the common people, the chair did not become widespread until the 18th century, when it became an everyday object. It is distinguished from the armchair by its lack of armrests, with a structure designed to offer total freedom of movement around a table or desk. The result of a constant quest to balance lightness and strength, it has evolved from carved solid wood to more modern lines, making every chair a testament to the history of comfort.
