A brief history of the serving cart
The serving cart, also known as a tea trolley, originated in the 17th century. At the time, it was used to serve and clear dishes and crockery during meals. Equipped with casters, it could be moved effortlessly from one place to another, allowing for faster table clearing by reducing the number of trips between the dining room and the kitchen. Its great utility made the serving cart an important piece of furniture, also used for serving tea or breakfast. This small mobile side table has, over the centuries, found a prominent place in our homes.
