**A little history**: The Tulip chair, designed in the 1950s by the famous Finnish designer Eero Saarinen, has become an icon of modern design. Inspired by a clean, organic aesthetic, Saarinen wanted to eliminate "the chaos of chair legs", hence the unique tulip-shaped base that gives the chair a minimalist, sculptural elegance. Originally made of fiberglass and aluminum, it is now often made of reinforced plastic to combine strength and lightness. The Tulip chair thus embodies the Mid-Century Modern style and remains a sought-after piece for its timeless shape.
