With its slender compass legs and Scandinavian appeal, this second-hand light wood desk brings a contemporary and balanced touch to any workspace. Its top offers a pleasant surface for writing, placing a computer, or organizing a few folders, while the star-headed screws highlight a detail of precise craftsmanship. With easy-to-live-with proportions, it fits just as well in an office as in a bedroom and allows light to circulate around it. Pair it with a leather chair and a metal desk lamp, then add a notebook and a few books to create a neat and warm work corner. Some signs of wear normal for its age.

A brief history of the desk
It all began with the "bure," a thick brown woolen cloth that covered the tables of copyist monks to protect their precious manuscripts. By extension, the table itself eventually took the name of the fabric that covered it: the bureau. Unlike the secretary desk, it is defined by its wide, fixed top and visible legs, offering a space for reflection without artifice. Also known as a "flat desk," it remains the centerpiece for anchoring a workspace with character.
