This light wood desk, found at a flea market, blends a Scandinavian look with a very gentle contemporary presence. Its triangular base gives it a graphic quality, while the handles and clean lines highlight its careful craftsmanship. With its two drawers and cubby, it offers useful storage for everyday essentials while providing a nice workspace under the top. Its light wood pairs easily with a fabric chair, a desk lamp, and a few notebooks kept within reach. Placed in an office or a bedroom, it easily accommodates a computer, papers, and a small plant on its surface.

A short history of the desk
It all began with "bure," a thick, brown wool cloth that covered the tables of copyist monks to protect their precious manuscripts. By extension, the table itself eventually took the name of the fabric that covered it: "bureau" (desk). Unlike the secretary desk, it is defined by its wide, fixed top and visible base, offering an unadorned space for reflection. Also called a "flat desk," it remains the centerpiece for anchoring a workspace with character.
