A brief history of the display cabinet
Born in the 18th century, the display cabinet transformed the closed sideboard into a theater for precious objects, protected from dust yet offered to the eye. It originally served as a "showcase" for goldsmiths, using glass—a material of great luxury at the time—to signal the wealth of a household even before revealing its contents. Its light structure, punctuated by transparent walls and often adjustable shelves, makes it possible to stage collections without visually cluttering the space. Today, it remains the ideal piece of furniture for bringing clarity to a room while transforming your memories and curiosities into a personal and refined exhibition.
