A brief history of the semainier (seven-drawer chest)
Seven drawers for seven days: such is the promise of the semainier, born in the 18th century to establish a daily organization ritual. Unlike a classic chest of drawers, it is tall to offer dedicated storage for each morning of the week, from Monday to Sunday. Whether it features the precious marquetry of the Louis XV style or the clean lines of 1950s Design, it fits into a Classic or Vintage aesthetic. Often confused with the "chiffonnier" (which has fewer drawers), it remains the centerpiece for optimizing small spaces with historical elegance.
