With its dark, patinated wood, this brown wooden chest of drawers cultivates the understated elegance of flea-market country furniture. Its nine drawers, each equipped with a central divider, offer organized storage for papers or small everyday accessories. Placed in a bedroom or office, it provides a warm presence while remaining easy to pair with classic decor, light woods, or natural textiles. Its size also makes it suitable for an entryway, where it can hold gloves, mail, and small daily items. As a second-hand piece, it bears the marks of its history: some drawers are a bit stiff to move, including one that does not close completely.

A brief history of the "semainier"
Seven drawers for seven days: this is the promise of the *semainier* (weekly chest), which emerged in the 18th century to establish a daily organizational ritual. Unlike a classic dresser, it is tall and slender, offering dedicated storage for every morning of the week, from Monday to Sunday. Whether featuring the precious marquetry of the Louis XV style or the clean lines of 1950s design, it fits into both classic and vintage aesthetics. Often confused with the "chiffonnier" (which has fewer drawers), it remains the centerpiece for optimizing small spaces with historic elegance.
