This pair of vintage yellow and clear plastic wall sconces adds a rustic touch full of texture, featuring conical shades and backplates with asymmetrical lines. The ridged plastic shades are translucent, while the small articulated arm allows for precise light adjustment. Fully restored and rewired, they offer a polished presence in an entryway, hallway, or bedroom, where their wall-mounted silhouette remains space-saving. The bayonet socket highlights their original design, faithful to the spirit of the sixties. In a colorful setting, they pair beautifully with a wooden console, an antique mirror, or a flea-market shelf.

A brief history of the wall sconce
The wall sconce is descended from medieval "light arms," torches fixed to walls to illuminate hallways without obstructing the passage. Long before electricity, it was a marvel of ingenuity: it often incorporated a mirror or polished metal plate at the back, a technical trick essential for doubling the candle's glow through simple reflection. In the 18th century, it moved from passageways to reception rooms, adorned with bronze and crystal to become a true instrument of theatrical display. Its wall-mounted position then served to highlight woodwork and architectural reliefs, creating plays of shadow impossible to achieve with central lighting.
