With its contemporary spirit, this second-hand metal and Formica pedestal table catches the eye with the balance of its three colorful shelves, ranging from red and yellow to black, in a composition reminiscent of the Mondrian style. Its black tubular metal creates a lightweight structure, while the top shelf rests on four copper-toned legs for a more refined finish. Originally designed as a plant stand, it is perfect for holding a potted plant, a few books, or select objects in a living room. Its height also allows it to tuck into a corner without taking up too much floor space. Adorned with a graphic cache-pot and a ceramic vase, it creates a highly decorative scene.

A brief history of the pedestal table
Appearing in the 17th century, the "guéridon" takes its name from a ballet character, "Guéridon," who carried a torch. Initially conceived as a stand for lighting (candlesticks, lamps), this small occasional piece of furniture is distinguished by its circular top resting on a single central base. Whether in an Empire style made of solid mahogany or a Seventies style in rattan, it adapts to any interior as a side table or display piece. Today, it remains a centerpiece for structuring a reading nook with elegance and lightness.
