A brief history of the guéridon
Appearing in the 17th century, the guéridon gets its name from a ballet character, "Guéridon," who held a torch. Initially designed as a support for lighting (candleholders, lamps), this small occasional furniture piece is distinguished by its circular top resting on a single central base. Whether Empire style in solid mahogany or Seventies in rattan, it adapts to all interiors as an end table or display table.
