Petite histoire de la table de ferme
Pièce maîtresse de la vie rurale au XIXe siècle, la table de ferme est façonnée pour durer des générations et accueillir les grandes tablées paysannes. Elle se reconnaît à son plateau épais en bois massif, souvent marqué par le passage du temps, et son piétement robuste relié ou non par une « barre de pied » ou entretoise. Appelée « table de réfectoire » ou « table de cuisine », elle était conçue pour supporter les travaux quotidiens autant que les banquets familiaux.
