This fir wood trestle table, in light wood, brings a rustic touch to a dining room or covered terrace. Fully foldable, this second-hand table unfolds easily when entertaining, then stores away with ease once the meal is over. Its generous length can accommodate six to eight guests, while the height under the tabletop leaves enough space to comfortably place chairs. A brief history of the farmhouse table
A centerpiece of rural life in the 19th century, the farmhouse table was built to last for generations and accommodate large peasant gatherings. It is recognizable by its thick solid wood tabletop, often marked by the passage of time, and its sturdy base connected or not by a "foot bar" or stretcher. Called a "refectory table" or "kitchen table," it was designed to withstand daily work as well as family banquets.
