This wooden farmhouse dining table brings a sober, bright, country-style touch to the dining room. Its top easily accommodates six guests, while the built-in drawer provides discreet storage for cutlery or table linens. The soft-toned wood pairs beautifully with wooden seats or mismatched chairs to create a warm and balanced setting. Sourced as a second-hand piece, it is perfect for both daily meals and long, convivial gatherings, especially when accompanied by vintage tableware and simple glasses. As a pre-loved object, it bears the memory of its history: a few signs of wear and tear.

A brief history of the farmhouse table
A centerpiece of rural life in the 19th century, the farmhouse table was crafted to last for generations and host large peasant gatherings. It is recognizable by its thick solid wood top, often marked by the passage of time, and its sturdy legs, which may or may not be connected by a foot rail or stretcher. Known as a "refectory table" or "kitchen table," it was designed to withstand daily chores as well as family banquets.
