Romy, the solid wood dining table with its marquetry top No. 1547

This solid wood dining table, designed to seat 4 to 6 guests, charms with its oval top with rounded edges and its marquetry work, which give it a refined look. The table features a carved floral motif on the apron that echoes the shape of the Louis XV style cabriole legs. With its clearance height, it remains very comfortable for everyday meals as well as long gatherings. It pairs naturally with distressed wood seating, antique linens, or ceramic tableware in soft tones. This table was originally intended to accommodate an extension leaf, which has not been preserved.

A brief history of the farmhouse table
A centerpiece of rural life in the 19th century, the farmhouse table is crafted to last for generations and accommodate large rustic gatherings. It is recognizable by its thick solid wood top, often marked by the passage of time, and its sturdy base, sometimes connected by a "foot bar" or stretcher. Known as a "refectory table" or "kitchen table," it was designed to withstand daily chores as well as family banquets.
