Romy, the No. 1540 wooden dining table

With a country spirit, this brown patinated pine dining table brings a soft and warm presence to the living area. Its generous tabletop and simple lines make it a beautiful dining table, designed to easily seat six to eight guests for a meal. The wood, with its beautiful patina, naturally pairs with wooden chairs, washed linen, or vintage tableware, whether in a dining room or a large kitchen. Its balanced size allows for a convivial space without weighing down the room. A second-hand piece, it bears the marks of its history: some signs of wear over time.

A brief history of the farmhouse table
A centerpiece of rural life in the 19th century, the farmhouse table was crafted to last for generations and accommodate large peasant gatherings. It is recognizable by its thick solid wood tabletop, often marked by the passage of time, and its sturdy base, sometimes connected by a stretcher or crossbar. Referred to as a "refectory table" or "kitchen table," it was designed to withstand daily chores as much as family banquets.
