With its piano stool aesthetic, this dark wood and wicker seat adds a sober, refined country touch to a living room or music corner. Its wicker seat complements the metal structure used for height adjustment, while its swivel mechanism makes it a functional piece for everyday use. Mounted on three legs, it offers balanced support and maintains an elegant presence without crowding the space. Perfect for accompanying a piano, it can also serve as an occasional seat in a bedroom. A brief history of the stool
The oldest seat in history, the stool is the direct ancestor of the chair, distinguished by its lack of a backrest and armrests. In the Middle Ages, it was the universal seat for commoners, while among the nobility, the "right to a stool" became a highly codified court privilege, allowing ladies to sit in the presence of the king. Its structure, resting on three or four legs, is a feat of stability and lightness, designed to be slid under a table or moved with ease. Whether a rustic wooden farmhouse style or industrial, it today embodies the quintessential space-saving furniture, offering an occasional seat that never clutters the view.
