The green hue and varnished top give this wood and metal chest of drawers a delicately vintage presence, with a Scandinavian flair. Its three drawers, equipped with metal handles, offer elegant storage for linens, accessories, or daily paperwork. The compass legs lighten its design and allow it to integrate naturally into a bedroom or entryway. This piece combines a contemporary look with very clear details, from wood to metal. On its top, a lamp and a few books are enough to compose a simple scene, while the drawers discreetly hold what one prefers to keep within reach.

A brief history of the chest of drawers
Its name says it all: it was born to be "convenient," replacing deep chests where everything was piled up haphazardly. Appearing during the reign of Louis XIV, it was such a prestigious display piece that it often sat in reception bedrooms rather than in wardrobes. It introduced the sliding drawer, a revolution that finally allowed one to access their belongings without emptying everything out. Whether called a "sauteuse" chest (on high legs) or a "tombeau" chest, it is defined by its generous top and its façade rhythmically structured by two or three rows of drawers.
