With its marble top and light wood, this second-hand bedside table brings an elegant country touch to the sleeping area. The elm wood is complemented by brass handles, while the piece balances mineral texture with the warmth of wood. Its drawer, door, and shelf offer useful storage to keep a book, lamp, or a few essentials close at hand. Placed in a bedroom, it pairs well with vintage linens, a wall sconce, and a carafe placed on top. In daily use, it readily accommodates an alarm clock, a low vase, and a glass of water on its marble surface.

A brief history of the bedside table
The term "chevet" (bedside table) has referred to a small piece of furniture placed next to the bed since the Middle Ages. Initially designed as a support for a lamp or personal items, the bedside table evolved over time to include drawers and shelves. An essential in the bedroom, it now combines functionality and design, adapting to all interior styles.
