This thrifted wooden bedside table embodies a restrained country style. Its drawer keeps evening essentials within easy reach, while the door conceals a shelf and storage space perfect for books or personal items. The dark wood gives it a warm look, easy to pair with a bedroom featuring natural materials, vintage linens, or a wooden headboard. It slips easily next to the bed to hold a lamp, a novel, and a glass of water. As a second-hand item, it bears the marks of its history, including some signs of age.

A brief history of the bedside table
Since the Middle Ages, the term "chevet" has referred to a small piece of furniture placed next to the bed. Initially designed as a stand for a lamp or personal items, the bedside table evolved over time to include drawers and shelves. Essential in the bedroom, it now combines functionality and design, adapting to every interior style.
