A Brief History of the Dresser
A direct evolution of the family buffet, the dresser emerged in the 18th century to showcase the wealth of the household through its finest earthenware pieces. Its structure is distinguished by an open or glazed upper part, formerly featuring "crenels," specific notches to hold plates upright and protect them from shocks. Whether called a "dressoir" or a "buffet two-body," it is designed to bring verticality and character to a living space.
