A brief history of the dresser
A direct evolution of the family sideboard, the dresser was born in the 18th century to showcase the household's wealth through its finest earthenware pieces. Its structure is distinguished by an open or glazed upper section, once equipped with "crenelations," those specific notches designed to hold plates upright and protect them from impact. Whether called a "sideboard" or a "two-body cabinet," it is designed to bring verticality and character to a living space.
