This thrifted wooden bench with patterned fabric adds a gentle, rustic touch. Its seat and backrest, dressed in pink, beige, and green patterns, create a nuanced look that is easy to pair with a farmhouse table or a cozy dining nook. Its wooden frame gives it a stable presence, while the generous seat comfortably accommodates several people. In a kitchen or dining room, it defines a convivial space without weighing down the room. Placed against a wall, accompanied by linen cushions and a weathered wooden table, it creates a welcoming setting. As a second-hand piece, it bears the marks of its history: a few traces of time.

A brief history of the bench
Appearing in the 17th century, the bench is the elegant, upholstered version of the stool, designed for the salons of high society. Unlike a sofa, it is distinguished by the absence of a backrest or arms, favoring an airy silhouette and a Louis XVI or Empire style. Whether called a "piano bench" or an "end-of-bed bench," it now fits into a boudoir or vintage aesthetic and remains the ideal piece to dress up a window or an entryway.
