A short history of the enfilade
The first Scandinavian sideboards appeared in the 1950s. The Scandinavian-style sideboard is part of the innovative post-war furniture. Its airy lines and rectilinear volumes reflect the sober style of modernist inspiration, with all the characteristics of Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish designers. The Scandinavian sideboard is made of traditional cabinetry, generally teak wood. It is used as a replacement for the traditional dining room buffet and now serves as a console table.
