A brief history of the vanity
The term “vanity” appeared in the early 20th century, even though the piece of furniture has existed since antiquity. Composed of a tabletop, one or more mirrors, and numerous drawers, the vanity is a piece of storage furniture, but above all a place for preparation where one applies makeup, perfume, and styles hair. While originally intended for both men and women, it quickly became the embodiment of feminine mystery. The vanity could indeed feature secret hiding places for intimate correspondence. Today, the vanity is back in the spotlight and works beautifully in any interior style!
