This second-hand wood and glass dressing table charms with its beveled mirror and 1930s Art Deco presence, highlighted by warm dark wood. Its tabletop slides naturally into a bedroom or walk-in closet, serving as a spot for a lamp, a few bottles, or a jewelry box. The piece blends the delicacy of glass with the depth of wood, offering a revisited country aesthetic that pairs beautifully with rattan seating, vintage linens, or brass accessories. Its slender shape fits perfectly into a corner without cluttering the space, while providing a comfortable surface for getting ready. A brief history of the dressing table
The term “coiffeuse” (dressing table) appeared at the beginning of the 20th century, though the piece of furniture has existed since antiquity. Comprised of a tabletop, one or more mirrors, and numerous drawers, the dressing table is a storage piece, but above all, a place of preparation where one applies makeup, perfume, and styles their hair. While originally intended for both men and women, it quickly became the embodiment of feminine mystery. The dressing table could indeed be equipped with secret compartments for keeping intimate correspondence. Today, the dressing table is making a comeback and works perfectly in any interior style!
