This light wood coffee table charms with its simple lines and hand-stripped finish, which reveals the softness of the solid wood. Its generous size makes it a perfect fit for a country-style living room, where it easily complements a sofa and a few curated objects. The drawer offers discreet storage for remote controls, notebooks, or small everyday accessories, while its low height makes it a natural companion in front of seating. The feel of an antique farmhouse table gives it an authentic look, ideal paired with linen, ceramics, and a few thrifted pieces. On its top, an open book, a tray of glasses, and a lamp create a cozy and polished scene. As a second-hand piece, it bears the traces of its history: holes corresponding to former positions for extensions, and the legs have been drilled.

A brief history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table did not truly emerge until the beginning of the 20th century, with the evolution of living rooms toward more comfort and relaxation. Its structure, deliberately low to align with the seat of armchairs, was inspired by oriental tea tables and 19th-century coffee stands. Known as a "salon table" or "cocktail table," it is defined by its generous surface supported by short, sturdy legs.
