Léonie, the coffee table with rattan magazine rack No. 1605

This light rattan coffee table adds a soft, vintage farmhouse touch to the living room. Its side magazine rack provides an extra function, while the bottom shelf offers useful storage space to keep some reading material within reach. The height of the niche allows for stowing away magazines, remote controls, or small everyday items without cluttering the surface. Placed in front of a linen sofa or paired with a wooden armchair, it creates a warm and natural corner. As with any second-hand piece of furniture, it bears the marks of its past: a few signs of wear.

A brief history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table did not truly emerge until the early 20th century as living rooms evolved toward greater comfort and relaxation. Its structure, intentionally low to align with the seat height of armchairs, was inspired by oriental tea tables and 19th-century coffee stands. Referred to as a "living room table" or "cocktail table," it is defined by its generous tabletop supported by short, sturdy legs.
