Léonie, the small round beige rattan coffee table No. 1167

With its round beige top and braided edge, this rattan and bamboo coffee table brings a gentle, countryside feel to any space. The light-wood rattan provides a presence that is both warm and airy, ideal for a living room or sunroom. Its size is perfect for holding books, a candle holder, or a cup of coffee. A second-hand vintage find, it pairs naturally with linen, weathered wood, and a few natural fiber baskets. It looks lovely with a low vase placed in the center, filled with a bouquet of dried flowers. As with any vintage piece, it carries the memory of its past: there are some signs of wear.

A brief history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table did not truly emerge until the early 20th century as living rooms evolved toward greater comfort and relaxation. Its structure, intentionally low to align with the height of armchair seats, was inspired by Oriental tea tables and 19th-century coffee stands. Known as a "living room table" or "cocktail table," it is defined by its generous surface supported by short, sturdy legs.
