Léonie, the upcycled marble coffee table No. 1157

Combining marble and brass, this vintage coffee table brings an elegant country touch to the living room. Its base, refurbished with matte black paint, emphasizes the contrast between the black and the white of the marble. Its low, elongated format offers a beautiful surface for everyday use, whether for art books, an appetizer tray, or decorative objects. A second-hand piece, it retains all the charm of noble materials and fits just as well next to a linen sofa as it does on a rug with a subtle pattern. In a bright living room, it will look stunning accompanied by two candles and a white ceramic vase.

A brief history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table did not truly appear until the early 20th century, with the evolution of living rooms toward more comfort and relaxation. Its structure, intentionally low to align with the seating of armchairs, is inspired by Oriental tea tables and 19th-century coffee stands. Referred to as a "living room table" or "cocktail table," it is defined by its generous top supported by a short, sturdy base.
