With its rattan weave and light wood, this secondhand coffee table brings a soft, elegant, country-style touch to a living room. The light wood gives it a luminous presence, while the rattan introduces a textured, warm material that is easy to pair with a linen sofa, matte ceramics, or a few books placed within reach. Its generous tabletop easily accommodates a stack of books, a mug, or a catch-all tray, while structuring the space around the lounge area. It slips naturally in front of a sofa and complements a sober decor, blending a thrifted aesthetic with discreet refinement. Topped with a bouquet of dried flowers and a few magazines, it creates a gentle, inviting ensemble.

A brief history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table did not truly appear until the early 20th century, with the evolution of living rooms toward greater comfort and relaxation. Its structure, intentionally low to align with the seat height of armchairs, was inspired by oriental tea tables and 19th-century coffee stands. Known as a "salon table" or "cocktail table," it is defined by its generous surface supported by short, sturdy legs.
