This light wood, country-style coffee table brings a warm and authentic farmhouse touch to a living room. Its drawer, equipped with a handle featuring lovely details, offers discreet storage for daily essentials, while the tabletop, at a convenient height, accommodates books, a cup, or a lamp. The clearance under the top also provides space to slide in a few magazines or a storage basket, and its light wood look pairs easily with a linen sofa, an antique rug, or some ceramics placed on top. A second-hand piece, it bears the marks of its history: signs of age and a dark mark at the bottom left.

A brief history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table did not truly appear until the beginning of the 20th century, with the evolution of living rooms toward greater comfort and relaxation. Its structure, deliberately low to align with the seat of armchairs, is inspired by Oriental tea tables and 19th-century coffee stands. Called a "living room table" or "cocktail table," it is defined by its generous top supported by a short and sturdy base.
