This thrifted coffee table plays with the lightness of transparent glass and the warmth of bamboo, in a very elegant country style. Its tabletop reveals the light wood-toned bamboo structure, providing a gentle presence in the living room without weighing down the space. Placed in front of a sofa, it holds a book, a lamp, or a few glasses with beautiful discretion. Its circular design is particularly well-suited for a convivial room, where the natural material converses with linen seating or a plant fiber rug. On a light-colored floor, it highlights a bouquet of dried flowers and a few neatly stacked magazines.
It shows signs of wear, including a slight chip on the glass tabletop.

A brief history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table did not truly appear until the beginning of the 20th century, with the evolution of living rooms toward greater comfort and relaxation. Its structure, intentionally low to align with the seat of armchairs, was inspired by oriental tea tables and 19th-century coffee stands. Referred to as a "lounge table" or "cocktail table," it is defined by its generous tabletop supported by a short and sturdy base.
