This vintage 1970s Swedish floor lamp combines a chrome stem with orange and black ABS spotlights, creating a graphic presence in a living room or reading nook. Its two adjustable, independent spotlights allow the lighting to be modulated as needed, while the two switches make its daily use precise and fluid. The contrast between the chrome and colored plastic defines a contemporary style, perfect for accompanying an armchair, a side table, or a desk. Carefully sourced, it bears the Fagerhults Belysning signature and fits easily into a minimalist decor, enhanced by a piece with character. Placed near a sofa with a stack of books and an accent lamp, it creates a warm and highly readable setting.

A brief history of the floor lamp
An heir to the 17th-century "guéridon" torchieres, the floor lamp revolutionized lighting by taking light off the walls and making it mobile. Its height was historically calibrated to cast a glow exactly over a reader's shoulder, thereby avoiding shadows long before the invention of electricity. At the end of the 18th century, the appearance of Argand oil lamps allowed it to shine independently and steadily, making it the central pivot of reading rooms.
