Enhance your interior with this vintage 1990s floor lamp, crafted from white metal with a minimalist design. Equipped with a dimmer switch, it allows you to create a warm and adjustable ambiance to suit your mood. Its slender silhouette and generous lampshade diffuse a soft light, perfect for cozy evenings. With a plug and switch cleverly positioned at the top of the stem, it combines aesthetics and functionality. Some signs of wear that testify to its history.

Lampshade diameter: 58 cm
Base diameter: 38 cm
Height: 154 cm

A brief history of the floor lamp
An heir to the "guéridon porte-flambeaux" (torch-bearing pedestal tables) of the 17th century, the floor lamp revolutionized lighting by moving light away from the walls and making it mobile. Its height was historically calibrated to cast a glow exactly over a reader's shoulder, thereby avoiding shadows long before the invention of electricity. At the end of the 18th century, the appearance of oil lamps with a central air draft allowed it to shine independently and steadily, making it the focal point of reading rooms.
