With its slender silhouette and contemporary look, this black iron floor lamp brings a graphic touch to a living room or reading nook. Its iron stand provides a minimalist base, while the dark and light green wool lampshade diffuses a soft light, ideal next to a sofa, armchair, or side table. Its generous size allows it to structure a corner of a room without weighing it down, while complementing décor that mixes wood, linen, and vintage finds. It will easily find its place in a bedroom to create a cozy atmosphere, or in a living room to complete a more minimal ensemble. A second-hand piece, it bears the marks of its history: a few signs of wear over time.

A brief history of the floor lamp
An heir to the "torch-bearing pedestals" of the 17th century, the floor lamp revolutionized lighting by taking light off the walls and making it mobile. Historically, its height was calibrated to cast light exactly over a reader's shoulder, thereby avoiding cast shadows long before the invention of electricity. At the end of the 18th century, the emergence of oil lamps with air currents allowed it to shine autonomously and steadily, making it the central pivot of reading rooms.
