Adopt this vintage Scandinavian armchair in wood and green tweed, with its simple yet inviting lines. Its deep, low seat invites reading or relaxation, while the contrast between the exposed wood and textured fabric creates a warm and graphic atmosphere. The underside of the seat has been redone with crossed elastic straps, ensuring comfort and sturdiness. Slight traces of time are present.

A brief history of the armchair
While the chair is made for work or dining, the armchair was born in the 17th century with a single mission: rest. Its name derives from the Old French "faudesteuil," a folding dignitary's seat, but it became emancipated under Louis XV to become this comfortable piece of furniture with armrests. Unlike the chair, it favors a wider seat and an inclined backrest, inviting conversation rather than a rigid posture. Whether it's a "bergère" with full sides to protect from drafts or a lighter "bridge" armchair, it embodies the evolution of the art of living.
