This cream-white plastic armchair appeals with its contemporary presence and very clean design. Its plastic shell and soft hues allow it to fit into a living room, a veranda, or a reading nook, where its seat height naturally complements moments of relaxation. As a second-hand piece, it retains the distinct elegance of thrifted finds, with a material that is easy to pair with a wooden coffee table, a light-colored rug, or a lamp with a simple design. Its backrest envelops without feeling heavy, and its seat comfortably accommodates everyday moments. Paired with a light throw and an open book, it creates a simple and refined setting. Like any second-hand armchair, it bears the marks of its past: a few signs of wear.

A brief history of the armchair
While the chair is made for work or dining, the armchair was born in the 17th century with a single purpose: rest. Its name derives from the Old French "faudesteuil," a folding seat for dignitaries, but it evolved under Louis XV to become the piece of comfortable furniture with armrests we know today. Unlike a chair, it favors a wider seat and an inclined backrest, inviting conversation rather than rigid posture. Whether it is a "bergère" with full sides to protect against drafts or a lighter "bridge" armchair, it embodies the evolution of the art of living.
