With its orange fabric and light wood frame, this armchair brings a warm, contemporary touch to any interior. Its compact size, comfortable seat height, and armrests make it a beautiful accent piece for a living room, office, or reading nook. The contrast between the wood and the reupholstered covering highlights a simple silhouette that is easy to pair with a wooden coffee table, a textured rug, or a table lamp. Its shallow seat gives it a neat appearance, perfect for placing near a bookshelf or in a bedroom. This vintage find also works well in a pair around a side table, accompanied by a light throw blanket and a few books close at hand.

A brief history of the armchair
While the chair is designed for work or dining, the armchair emerged in the 17th century with a single purpose: rest. Its name derives from the Old French "faudesteuil," a folding seat for dignitaries, but it truly came into its own under Louis XV, evolving into a piece of furniture defined by its comfort and armrests. Unlike a standard chair, it features a wider seat and a reclined back, inviting conversation rather than rigid posture. Whether it is a "bergère" with enclosed sides to shelter from drafts or a lighter "bridge" armchair, it embodies the evolution of the art of living.
