A brief history of the secretary desk
Born in the 18th century under the impetus of brilliant cabinetmakers like Jean-François Oeben, the secretary desk is the guardian of intimate correspondence. Its flap reveals a "gradin," a set of small drawers and niches designed for meticulous organization.
