A brief history of the serving trolley
The serving trolley, also known as a serving table, originated in the 17th century. At the time, it was used to serve and clear dishes and crockery during meals. Equipped with wheels, it could be moved effortlessly from one place to another, allowing the table to be cleared more quickly by reducing the number of trips between the dining room and the kitchen. It was due to its great usefulness that the serving trolley became an important piece of furniture, also used for serving tea or breakfast. This small mobile side table has, over the centuries, found a special place in our homes.
