With its black metal frame and yellow Formica top, this secondhand side table boasts a very trendy vintage look. Its lightweight design is perfect for holding vinyl records or magazines, while providing a useful surface in a living room or reading nook. The contrast between the metal and the Formica creates a contemporary touch that is easy to pair with a low armchair, a turntable, or a few books placed on top. It also works perfectly next to a sofa, keeping a magazine and a table lamp within easy reach. As day turns to night, it pairs well with a turntable and a stack of records for a curated, flea-market-chic atmosphere.

A brief history of the side table
Originating in the 17th century under the name "guéridon," the side table traces its roots to the Moorish slaves (called guéridons) depicted on the carved legs of the first models brought back from Italy. This mobile piece of furniture revolutionized social life at court by breaking the rigidity of large buffets to create conversation islands anywhere in the room. Its light and compact structure was designed to be moved according to one's needs: to hold a candlestick, a cup of tea, or a bedside book.
