This dark wood and grey marble side table, a vintage yet resolutely contemporary find, draws the eye with the elegance of its three carved, bamboo-style wooden legs. The side table features three small grey marble tiers, offering a refined resting place for a cup, a book, or a reading lamp. Its slender silhouette slides easily beside a sofa or near an armchair without crowding the space. The pairing of wood and stone creates a sober presence, ideal for a living room with modern lines. Placed next to a fabric armchair, it hosts a stack of books and a light ceramic mug.

A brief history of the side table
Born in the 17th century under the name "guéridon," the side table owes its origin to the Moorish slaves (called guéridons) depicted on the carved legs of the first models brought back from Italy. This nomadic piece of furniture revolutionized social life at court by breaking the rigidity of large sideboards to create conversation nooks anywhere in the room. Its light and compact structure was designed to be moved according to one's needs: to hold a candlestick, a cup of tea, or a bedside book.
