A Brief History of the Sideboard
Rooted in the daily life of 19th-century provincial homes, the country sideboard was the guardian of generous tables. Crafted from solid woods such as oak or cherry, it stood out for its simple lines and unique patina, a testament to the passage of time. Whether called a "low sideboard" or a "two-part sideboard," it fit into a Rustic or Shabby Chic style depending on its ornaments. Unlike formal living room furniture, it prioritized functionality with its wide doors and deep drawers.
