With its beautiful patina and delicate mouldings, this light wood chest of drawers evokes the understated elegance of country style. Made from solid wood, it rests on a sturdy frame and has four drawers that open easily with their metal pull handles. Its ample storage space easily accommodates folded linens and everyday accessories, and it fits just as well in a bedroom as in an entryway. The moulded detailing on the wood and lower rail gives it a refined look, while its light colour pairs beautifully with rattan, washed linen or a ceramic lamp.

A brief history of the chest of drawers
Its name says it all: it was designed to be “convenient”, replacing deep chests where everything was piled up haphazardly. First appearing during the reign of Louis XIV, it was such a prestigious showpiece that it often took pride of place in reception bedrooms rather than dressing rooms. It introduced the sliding drawer—a revolution that finally made it possible to reach your belongings without emptying everything out. Whether called a “commode sauteuse” (with tall legs) or a “commode tombeau”, it is defined by its generous top and front, arranged in two or three rows of drawers.
