In light rattan, this second-hand shelf gently evokes a country spirit. Its three tiers offer airy storage for a few books, a lamp, or everyday items, while taking up little floor space. The weaving highlights a warm material, ideal for a bedroom or an entryway, where it can hold lightweight baskets and small accessories. One can also imagine it near a wall painted in muted tones, accompanied by a ceramic vase and a dried bouquet. A vintage find, it bears the marks of its history with some signs of age.

A short history of the shelf
Long before it became the refined piece of furniture we know today, the shelf was merely a simple board of raw wood fixed in kitchens or workshops to keep tools within reach. It gained prominence in the 18th century under the name "gradin," finding its way into living rooms to display precious book bindings or fine porcelain. Its structure, free of doors or side panels, makes it the lightest piece of furniture in the home—a feat of minimalism that clears floor space while dressing the walls. Today, it serves not only to store but to showcase our daily lives, transforming a utilitarian surface into a true living display that breathes and lets light circulate.
