With its rounded shapes and glass top, this light wood rattan console table brings a delicately vintage country-style touch to the home. The rattan structure creates a light silhouette, while the glass reveals the finesse of the weaving and provides an ideal surface for a lamp, a few books, or a vase. Its measured size allows it to be placed in an entryway, behind a sofa, or along a living room wall without crowding the space. Paired with linen, raw ceramics, and a few thrifted items, it creates a soft and curated decor. As a second-hand piece, it bears the marks of its history: a few scratches on the top.

A brief history of the side table
Born in the 17th century under the name "guéridon," the side table owes its origin to the Moorish slaves (called "guéridons") depicted on the carved legs of the first models brought back from Italy. This nomadic piece of furniture revolutionized social life at court by breaking the rigidity of large sideboards to create conversation hubs anywhere in the room. Its light and compact structure was designed to be moved according to one's needs: to hold a candlestick, a cup of tea, or a bedside book.
