A brief history of the guéridon
Appearing in the 17th century, the guéridon takes its name from a ballet character, "Guéridon," who carried a torch. Initially designed as a support for lighting (candlesticks, lamps), this small occasional table is distinguished by its circular top resting on a single central base. Whether it's an Empire-style solid mahogany piece or a Seventies rattan one, it adapts to all interiors as a sofa end table or display table. Today, it remains the centerpiece for elegantly and lightly structuring a reading corner.
