A Brief History of the Accent Table
Born in the 17th century under the name "guéridon," the accent table owes its origin to the Moorish slaves (called "guéridons") depicted on the carved legs of the first models brought from Italy. This nomadic piece of furniture revolutionized social life at court by breaking the rigidity of large buffets, allowing for conversational "islands" to be created anywhere in the room. Its light and compact structure was designed to be moved as needed: to hold a candlestick, a teacup, or a bedside book.
